Hi guys new here. I deer hunt upstate NY, every shot is 25yrds or 300 no in between it seems. Looking to buy a new double duty rifle in 6.5 creed for hunting and good accuracy at the range. I currently have a Remington 700 with the magpul hunter stock (thin profile barrel SPS rifle) and a decent load built up for it but I just want more accuracy.
My range goes out to 600 yards and I’d like to be able to at least hit that as they do some matches at the range but want a rifle I can still hunt deer with.
Basically I’m looking for a hunting rifle that I can be proficient up to 600yds with in the 1k ballpark. The new Springfield Armory waypoint that just came out has really caught my eye and with a discount is in my ballpark. I’ve also been looking at the Bergera wilderness ridge rifle. Any thoughts on either of these? I know the SA rifle hasn’t been out long at all. If not does anyone have any other recommendations of a rifle like this?
