vZ-58 at the range

I'm really liking this rifle, but I can't really afford one ATM.
I agree it would be nice to have one with an AR style magwell, especially because I would like to have the option of magazines other than 30 rounders.

That and a lack of optics mounting options seem to be the only problems.

Thank you for the photographs, but I was wondering whether one could install an M-4 style retractable (rather than folding) stock.

This is mandatory in my household, so that both my wife and I can use comfortably.

What about optics? Does it have a side rail like, say, Romanian SAR (AKM clone)?

There are Canadian websites with cool M4 style stocks available, but they always seem out of stock.

There are some 'smiths here in the US that are working on adapters so you can attach more things to these fine rifles.

There is a place that imports the Israeli made folding Galil stock and the AR style collapsing site, can't remember where off the top of my head, BUT, I was told by CZ-USA that many new items for the vZ-58 will be coming in soon, as it is proving to be VERY popular. I'll let you know more when I hear it.

amoredman nice vz, my ffl dealer ordered the wrong vz instead i got the military sporter, but still cant go wrong with any vz. hell i might just order me another one the tactical version:)

How durable is the VZ58 mag (aluminum?) compared to the polymer or steel AK mags?

Given I haven't had to hit dirt with one in the rifle, or stomped one, I can't tell. General abuse, they seem every bit as rugged as a common ribbed steel AK mag.

Gotta get a pigsticker, fits on the CZ builds?
CzUSA rifles, no. Not w/o a retrofit of an original FSB ( which will require a permanently installed US made muzzle extension to keep you out of illegal-SBR-land ).
