I don't know about others....but in my region...north Georgia, of the limited stores in this area I have....NONE.....NONE of them handle wads to reload shot shell.......I have recently checked the ones I am aware of...Bargin Barn, 400 Pawn, even went all the way down to Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna........no one has wads??????

Looking on line obviously must be the answer, but I see when ordering small lots...1000 or so, that shipping cost half of the order?????

Any help ???? Suggestions?

Thanks

yea, go online.....it'll be on your doorstep in a couple days. Get exactly what u want too.

Natchez;
Midway;
Graf's;
Midwest shooter supply;
.....to name a few. Good luck.

Go to your local shotgun club - the trap/skeet variety. most have some form of "pro" shop where you can buy a bag or two. Otherwise going on line and buying in bulk will work.

Your area says Atlanta - you have several excellent sporting clays courses in and around Atlanta - I would start there

The Trap and Skeet clubs near my area....50 miles north of ATL are far and few between, one, River Bend cost more than the mortgage on my house.....it would be the only one that would carry reloading items....so can't use them...it's a private Club. Bass Pro is over an hour away...so internet is it I guess.:banghead:

I'm not from your area, but you might want to see if any of these are close. Even if the club doesn't have a shop to sell reloading supplies, speak to some of the clays shooters and ask where they get supplies.

If you see anyone out there with a .410 or 28ga, I would approach them first. The little shells are really expensive from the factory and most folks that shoot them regularly reload.

You can also do a search of the reloading forum at shotgunworld.com to see if anything is near you.

used wads

I know this is going to sound really strange but a friend of mine used to coach the skeet team at a midwest university. Of course this was a "club" sport and the kids had no money so he reloaded shells for them. After they finished shooting he had them go out on the range and pick up the wads and then reloaded them again. Said they worked fine. I guess you go to almost any gun range and ask to pick up the plastic wads.

Yep Dale, been all over that.....the one I mentioned and another are close, but as I mentioned, to expensive and the other has a 100 plus waiting list to join...but I should stop by one and ask someone about supplies....good idea.

Thanks...will keep these linked to use in the future...for now I ordered 2000 from Adventure Outdoors here in Atlanta...seemed to be the best price, not by much, but good enough.
