Bass Pro Shop! Luckily there is one where I live. Sure they only sell Winchester and Remington and maybe one other but as far as .22lr,9mm,and .38sp range ammo it works for me. There is also a Academy Sports here and they have some decent ammo deals. For exotic/performance type ammo I go to a local gun shop that has a crazy ammo selection(Clark Gun). To tell you the truth with those three I have never bought ammo from Wally World but Im sure I would if it was all I had.

The one I visited did. All the ones here have plenty to keep the hunters happy with what they commonly like. In fact, the manager was ordering a $1000 rifle while I was in the store. I'd buy a 1k rifle someplace else, myself . . . but . . .

Imagine that, a retailer as shrewd as Walmart phasing out a segment of their buniness in stores that can't move the product. It makes good business sense, just like not having a Lawn and Garden section in an urban store. Am I supposed to get angry over this?

Or, you could spend 3 minutes face time with the manager like I did, and get as much as you want there in 3 days waiting for you. I hate wasting time walking around a gun show getting swept hundreds of time by guns trying to see who still has what I want in case volumes.

My preferred firearms dealer is not a convenient trip, and they have to order what I want, too. No one stocks cases around here, I have to ask. Or order it to have it shipped and pay for that cost. Its also inconvenient when UPS won't leave an "adult signature required" package in front of my garage.

FWIW I was at my local Wal-Mart here in SE MN today and I asked the guy behind the desk. He said that their getting rid of the guns in August but the ammo and accesories are staying. At least at this Wal-Mart. I guess we'll see.

Buckeye Outdoors in COlumbus Ohio has CCI Blazer Brass case 9mm 115gr FMJ for $5.99/50, or .45ACP 230gr FMJ for $9.99/50

Click on one of the stores then click on view sales flyer for a pdf doc.

I stocked up on American Eagle red box 9mm 115grFMJ for about $119/1000 a couple years ago.
Then I bought a bunch of bulk reloaded 9mm FMJ 115gr range ammo, comes in big bags of 500 loose rounds, for $39 a bag. At a gun show somewhere. So far the quality has been excellent for range ammo.

wal mart isnt out yet. They are removing inventory from stores not making a profit on guns, and for that I can't blame them.

As for ammo that is in wal marts for the foreseeable future.
