Took the new Walker-Colt out to the range this morning.
Overall is was a great success! :D
Cleaned the gun of all factory oil. It was pretty messy out of the box.
Popped caps x 2 on an empty cylinder. No.11 caps had to be bent to stay on nipples.
Loaded the first cylinder with 30gr 3Fg over felt wad then .454 round ball.
Nice BOOM and smoke. Accuracy good at 10yds. About 6 inches above POA.
Shot several different cylinder full of rounds with varying powder charges.
NO failure to fire. Had a bit of trouble with spent caps binding the cylinder against the frame.
Eventually ended up with 50gr of 2Fg as most accurate load.
Definitely need to shoot more to check this.
Best part was all the slobbers the Walker got from other shooters. hahahaha
After getting home broke the gun down completely to its bare parts and cleaned and cooked as per THR instructions on top sticky.
Gun back together and smells like canola! LOL.
A most fun day.
