Walkin' In A Winter Wonderland

This is what I do. Mine is an LCR in the side pocket of my parka or the inside pocket of my pea coat, easily accessible.

One bit of warning--if you carry a very light handgun in a very heavy coat you may not notice right away if the handgun falls out into a snow bank.

One more thing, where do you leave that coat when you go to anothers home or in a restaurant.

I will not leave a loaded gun unattended,so I make arrangements to pocket the pistol - or carry the coat at all times.

I head straight to the restroom and move the revolver from coat to pants pocket. This tactic has worked for years without ever raising any suspicion.

After moving to Washington and discovering what even a mild Pacific Northwest winter is about, I realized that the S&W 432 (I think that is the model number) stored in the safe needed to find a home in my coat pocket for the season.

Six rounds of .32 Magnum, while not a .45 ACP, at least gives me a fighting chance to either achieve results or distract enough to allow transition to the Glock 32 .357 SIG under the coat.

Picked up a S&W bodyguard Tuesday. So far its working out great I'm not crazy about the laser that came with it but I don't have to use it. I've been carrying it in the weakhand jacket/coat pocket with my Glock 26 stongside carry IWB.

Since this is linked elsewhere, one of my, "as seen on old westerns" favorites involves a coat pocket with an opening through to one's waist line-belt line. It's easy to have drawn your gun inside the coat and stand there all while giving the appearance of having one's hands in the pockets. Shooting involves bringing the piece up and out the front of the coat.
Best,
Rob
