I was cleaning my p99 after a day at the range. I notice a strange issue with the take down lever on reassembly. I usually pull the slide all the way back and the take down lever would pop back up into place. Now I have to slightly pull the trigger back in order for the take down lever to move back into place. Does any one else have this issue?

Mine does it too occasionally. I've not had an issue in the few thousand rounds of .40 I've put through it. It also hangs up when I pull the slide off. If you look on the front of the trigger, there is a notch up near the top center that catches the lock sometimes. It's normal.

I wouldn't call it normal. I might call it dirty, however. Have you checked to see whether any residual gunk, from shooting or from carrying, is preventing the takedown level from falling freely into place?

It looks pretty clean inside. When I pull the slide back over the first guide rails it actually pops the take down lever all the way up and then it gets a little hung up before I get it to the second guide rails. Which pops the take down lever back down. The only way the take down lever goes back up is when I pull on the trigger a little bit. Not really sure why its doing this but it still functions properly when shooting.
