How does the Walther PPS stand up to the Walther P99C?

I currently have the P99 full size and P99C both in 9mm AS, I love them both more than all of my Sigs, S&W and Rugers, however, how good is the Walther PPS?

IMO the P99 AS is the best product Walther ever put out, but then, I have never fired the P99 QS or the PPS

Your Thoughts Please,

Sigbear

I emailed walther and asked if they would ever make the PPS with the AS trigger.

They said there were no plans. That is weird to me. I assume, because of my opinion, that the P99 AS was the most popular P99. The P22 is kinda similar in that it is also a DA/SA. Seems logical for them to do it.

When I picked up the PPS I don't know. It doesn't do it for me. I like everything about it, but there are smaller 9mm's that do the same thing and do it lighter (kel tec pf-9, kahr cw9, taurus 709..) The trigger is glock like. I do not like that, but obviously a lot of people do.

The size changing mags are pretty neat though.

They do not feel as nice as the P99's in the handle. Looks similar but the thinner width cuts down on the feel. But the reviews I have read rave about the feel compared to a glock. No surprise :)

I think very highly of the walther pps. I have carried it for 1year +. I think that they are very accurate, very comfortable to carry, and very reliable. I have put about 1000 rounds through it with not so much as a hickup. I carry it over my glocks, sig, and M&P.

It's an easy call: Get one of each. You might as well do it now because the prices continue to go up, as we all know. :)

Actually, both are superb handguns and tough to top. The best thing I can tell you is to try them both and buy the one that best fits your hand and eye. I've got a P99C that I use for daily carry (along with a full-sized P99 -- gotta get one of those, too). I've also got a PPS in 9mm and another in .40 S&W. I find that the P99 is a far easier gun to shoot and control; the felt recoil from the PPS is greater, IMO, especially in .40 S&W. The PPS is a dream to carry concealed, however. Which is why, coming full circle, you should get them both. :)

I just bought a P99C AS for concealed carry but agonized over whether the PPS might be the better choice since more concealable. Compared to other very concealable pistols (Kel Tec, Kahr, etc.), I would expect the PPS to be more reliable from what I've read. I'm looking forward to seeing further opinions.

The PPS is heavier and larger than some of the other slim 9mms on the market, but I'd take Walther reliability over any Kel-tec, Kahr, or Taurus any day of the week. Overall, the PPS is still a very slim and light gun. With the proper holster and gun belt, you wouldn't even notice it on your waist.
