I have a Walther PPK .380 that has 9mm Kurtz written on the barrel. Was manufactured by Interarms, Alexandria, VA and has a serial # of K009645. Could anyone give me any history or date of manufacture on this gun? I bought it used.

You might want to run a search on this topic. You'll find that the serial numbers of the Interarms/Ranger guns didn't survive the closing of the company once the owner died; the records went to the morgue at the BATF and have not resurfaced. The best folks can do at present is to see if a date is attached to the test target that often comes with the gun. If you have the test target and it's dated, then you are in luck. If you don't, the best you can do is to fish around for lists of posted serial numbers on the various gun forums, including this one (thus, the search), and see if a dated gun is anywhere near your own serial number. From there, you can extrapolate, which also is a risky endeavor (it assumes that production from year to year was consistent; it usually wasn not).

The Walther Forums also has a list of Interarms guns with dated test targets, by the way:

Good luck.
