I am seeing that sites like Bud's and CDNN are selling the Walther PPX M1 for cheap prices.

Is the PPX M1 just a really cheap gun?

Thanks.

Great gun. Ergos work great for large hands like mine, even if the grip looks weird.

Shoots great. Not a single stoppage in just over 2k rounds.

It is my range gun. Would definitely recommend if you can get past the looks, which are subjective. I think it looks fine.

Trigger is awesome. Hickock45 had a really good review of it on YouTube. He liked the trigger as well and the gun overall.

After watching the Hickock45 review and the fact that there appears to be no negativity on the pistol, I went ahead and ordered one.

CDNN has the all black for $279 and the stainless model for $299. I opted for the stainless model. The total with shipping was $314.63. My FFL charges $20 per transfer so I will be into the pistol for $334.63.

Walther is offering a free mag, free holster, and free mag pouch with purchase, IIRC, $10 processing.

Yes I saw that deal and turned a friend on to it. Today they have an FN 9mm with 3 mags and Night sights for $499.00

It's an Ulm-made Walther, which means it's a very high-quality firearm, along the lines of the P99, PPQ, and PPS (and not to be confused with Umarex junk like the P22, SP22, and PK380).

The PPX just happens to be Walther's budget-priced gun, meant to compete with pistols like the SIG SP2022, S&W SD9/Sigma, and Ruger 9E. It's still a high-quality, well-made, and reliable pistol, however.

Owned one for a while. Ended up trading for a Glock 26 because I wanted something more concealable. Regret it some ways. The Glock does what I want it to do, but in general the PPX equals/beats it for everything but concealability.

Feeding/extraction reliability seems to equal the Glock.
Durability/finish seems just as good.
Ergonomics/grip design is superior, despite the funky look. I've never found a gun that I could point-shoot as effortlessly.
The stock Glock trigger isn't even in the same galaxy as the stock PPX trigger;
The PPX trigger is AMAZING. Fairly long, light takeup and crisp clean snap.
Obviously the Glock does beat it in parts/magazine availability and price, and aftermarket support for things like holsters.

In general, the PPX is a massively underrated value in a non-concealed application. Open carry, home defense, competition, etc.

I'm about to talk myself into buying another one...

Walther PPX m1.....

I'm not a fan of the big PPX models.
To me, it's chunky, looks like a Hi-Point or a mini-hair dryer, doesn't have many holster or gear choices.
I'll admit the PPXs have huge sights. :)
That's good for the casual shooter or any new gun owner/entry level CCW holder who wants a 3 dot sight picture.
I've seen & read a few - reviews of the firearm. The price is okay. I've seen PPXs last year for around $300.00.

Walther Arms concept of having a 9mm/.40S&W entry level pistol like Smith and Wesson's SDVE line or Ruger's SR pistols is what the PPX is.

If you choose to buy a new PPX m1, Id buy a version that has the Davidson's Lifetime Warranty. It's a good idea to have the plan if the gun breaks or can't be fixed.

I can see why someone might compare the looks to a Hi-Point, but that's still doing the gun disservice. It is a much, much better firearm than a Hi-Point.
