Want a good multi-tool to work on AR

My search for multi tool came up with Leatherman, Gerber, etc, but that was not what I was looking for.

I want to buy a wrench type tool to work on my AR. Especially ot change the stock. I guess I'd have to remove the extension tube. By my question, you can tell I am a noobie to the multitudes who own an AR rifle.

What kind do you guys recommend?

A link would be nice, too, if you can remember it.

Nothing on an AR needs a Leatherman, Gerber, etc, milti-tool to properly work on it. That would just be a good way to scratch stuff and make a mess of things.

The combo tools for an AR that fit the stock & barrel nuts wouldn't exactly fold up and fit in your pocket!

I went to Sportsman's Guide and purchased the one made by DPMS.

It was the most often recommended.

It cost me 17.47 (Buyers Club member with a $5.00 off coupon)

All together, S & H included, it cost me 26.95.

Don't recall having to "work on" an AR in the field in my intermittent times with them from 1967-now.

I do carry a Swiss knife at all times, though. I use it to cut the electrical tape that I use for target pasters on "E" targets.

Believe I have a Leatherman down in the desk drawer that was given to me. Never have used it.

If you look in Brownell's et al, there are several stock wrench/multitools.

Keep in mind the rifle was designed to be stripped by a soldier in an emergency with the tip of a round of ammo. If it's an emergency, tear it up however you need to with whatever you have. If it's a situation where you still are more worried about the rifle than your life, stop shooting and take it to a shop.
