Someone please refer me to a link where I can read the actual text of the new gun laws just enacted in Colorado. I will be travelling to CO likely several times this year and don't want to rely on the superficial descriptions available in news stories. Example: high-cap magazines are banned, but what does that mean? Can't sell them, or can't manufacture them, or can't possess them? Does grandfathering apply? What about the new "loan a gun" rules, what specifically are they? News stories out there say that lawyers in CO who have looked at the actual text of the new laws believe they are ambiguous and raise many questions as to what they actually mean (that's not so unusual when people without experience writing statutes get caught up in emotional issues).

If you look down at my post called " The C&R EXEMPTION" I linked the transfer law.

Also try colorado house 1224, if I recall.
The sheriffs are all meeting tomorrow to hash out procedures. But if you have a hicap mag you can bring it in after July 1, but you can't sell it.

CF Plinker....from what my Sheriff said Tuesday, they are going to back away or interpret continuous possession as not selling, or not loaning for use in a different gun.

If you bring a magazine having a capacity of more than 15 rounds into the Colorado you must maintain continuous possission of it while you are in Colorado. I don't know how you will do that if you are not travelling by private vehicle.

Will the legislature and/or governor need to sign off on what the Sheriffs decide so that it is binding on other law enforcement agencies such as Department of Wildlife and various police departments?
