I am thinking about going back to HK for my off duty weapon. Right now it is a Glock 23 but would like to change to the USPc .40. Does anyone have a side by side pic of the two? I tried a search but couldn't come up with anything. From what I remember they were almost the same dimensions with the Glock being a tad smaller.

What is your duty gun?

I carry HK on and off duty, and shoot IPSC with an HK as well - but I wouldn't recommend carrying different styles of pistol at different times.

Duty weapon is an issued Beretta 96g. I can not switch my main weapon but do have a choice on backups.

I wouldn't change my manual of arms, so you'd be carrying the USP hammer down, negating the big HK advantage of condition one carry.

If you want to install the match trigger (or LEM, if it floats your boat), the USP should work well for you. Honestly, though I'm a huge fan of the USP, the stock DA trigger isn't the best, though it's workable. I just go cocked & locked, and have the match trigger group on my working HKs.

I believe the Glock is a tad smaller, but the grip angle is different. You might also consider a smaller Beretta - I've heard wonderful things about the Cougar line.

The USP's DA trigger probably isn't any worse than the Beretta's. I'd rate their triggers about equal, and I actually like them. Of course I like carrying my USP condition one and would gladly replace my 92 with a Beretta Steel single action were it not for the huge price tag.
