Repeal some of the idiotic laws against smoking pot and the border violence would drop off about 90%.

I am not sure of the solution - but you make a good point. We fund both sides in a war in someone else's country, and then whine when some of the violence comes home?

I think it is obvious that the southern border situation is out of control with no HOPE in sight. My advice to to act locally and forget about our corrupt government....I grew up right on the border and choose to leave many many years ago..call me selfish, a coward....but call my family/life safe..for now.

An actual question - for those who argue that somehow massive immigration is in violation of the Constitution - does the Constitution have anything to say about immigration? Or the English language?

(BTW, this really is a question [actually two questions] I don't know the answer. I am pretty sure that the Constitution says nothing about the English language. I have a vague memory that there was a time period when it seemed that German might become the national language. Anyone else recall hearing this?)

I am pretty sure that the Constitution says nothing about the English language.
The constitution is WRITTEN in the ENGLISH language So that would make speakers of other languages SOL unless they assimilated to the De Facto official language of this country. The language that is taught in our schools and used to conduct daily business. I'm pretty sure that the founders of this country spoke English.
I'm sort of worried about the people who turn this ILLEGAL immigration issue into a PC campaign about race or religion. I don't recall anyone condemming immigration or Mexicans or Muslims, etc. in previous discussions. The point is that americans do not want ILLEGAL immigrants who come to suck our infrastructure dry at our expense and make a mockery of our laws and borders.

I don't see this as a clear gun-related topic, but I'll throw in my two cents anyhow.

I get real frustrated when the Charge of "Racism" is thrown on anybody that opposes illegal immigration.
To all the honest, hardworking Mexicans (or people from any country for that matter): if you want to come here, work hard, raise your family, be productive members of society- Welcome! (as far as I'm concerned) You are already ahead of a sizeable percentage of the US population, and I wish that there was an easier process to do it legally.
If I were in their shoes I would want something better for my family too.

I don't care at all about a person's race, religion, national origin, etc.. What really concerns me is when I see these huge demonstrations by illegals protesting and making demands. Then you hear many of them say that the southern part of the US was stolen and really belongs to Mexico! Yes, I absolutely believe that kind of subversive element should not be allowed entry into this country! By saying this they are stating that they are enemies of this country.

I am part Native American, can I make the claim that Oklahoma belongs to me since it was stolen from my ancestors? Who did the Cherokee steal it from? How far back do you want to go?

I am not racist, not even remotely. That is not who I am. At the same time, all these demonstrations and protests for open borders have angered a lot of people, causing many to develope a rather anti-Mexican attitude. That is unfortunate, especially for those that truly just want to come here and make this country a better place.

Here are some true facts.
This is not hearsay.
I live along a route here in AZ that is one of the main arteries for the flow of illegal people and drugs.
DPS is pretty good about profiling a van full of people.
Most of the time they will not pull them over.
Why????

Because it take INS almost four hours to get here from Flagstaff or PHX.
If they stop them, they then have to babysit them.
Provide water, and whatever else they need. And on top of that they are prevented from doing any other of the jobs they were placed on the highway to do. So they don't stop them and just let them go.

A number of times some of the newer officers have stopped a van full of illegals, only to have them flee into wilderness.

Now the problem is this, these people have nowhere to go, and no way to get there, so they begin breaking into homes, and stealing anything in peoples yards they can use, such as clothing etc.

No one has caught any of these people in the act, but when someone does, it is going to appear like war. Right here in Rural America.

I know this because I have worked for the highway Dept. and I also know a good deal of our local DPS personel.

We're armed, we're ready, and we are going to be forced to do nothing but fight.

Opposing spiraling violence and criminal behavior is not racist. As it has been mentioned, there will always be a few people who are genuinely racist, although I don't really see that much at THR. Then there are people who are beyond frustrated with the behavior of a group of people who happen to be from Mexico and the anger comes out verbally and is mistaken as blanket racism. There are many races and religions here at THR.

I for one am not racist, and it's ridiculous if you knew the full story to think so.

However, I am absolutely PO'd about the fact that .gov cares nothing for the American people who are watching, watching, watching, their areas go down, and the fact the BP agents are prosecuted for stopping drug dealers.

This is simply an indicator of a larger problem. It indicates the failing system. It indicates that Americans should be prepared and able to keep justice and safety and law at least within their families and communities as unified groups and that such will not be possible without arms should the gangs truly escalate.

The threat of accountability that exists keeps the border areas somewhat in check, but when that accountability no longer exists I could not put into words what the men and women will have to endure in unsecured areas.

When you are powerless, or feel that way, the emotions grow stronger and stronger and without constant awareness become something entirely different. This could be averted if the fed's cared, but remember, they WANT civil war, right? They want martial law, they want someone else to do the dirty work. They want confiscations and camps. . . .

Either that or they are just simply unable to handle what is happening and we are watching the temporary but imminent (5-15 years) disintegration of the United States of America and the collapse of her economy forthcoming.

There are bad people in this world, everywhere, and to give them free reign is to surrender what is good and peaceful. Ultimately, almost all who are defiant and opposed to this border BS and the invasion of Mexico are pacifists. We do not want what we see is coming this century on many levels, not just from this one issue.:(

ps - I'd much rather just shoot and relax, reload, listen to the radio, and snuggle with my wife after eating my belly full, and then go for a swim, and play music, than have to fight a freakin guerilla war in my home country. And dont think for a second others, with greater means than illegals, are watching this from afar. . . . . . .

I don't get the folks who don't believe this. Or who think this isn't leading to a very bad place and time in this country. Maybe it's that alot of you don't live in a border state.

What I really think though is that you don't want to believe the dire nature of this problem. To do so implies some kind of action needs to be taken. Myself, I know that the action must be violent.

But, it is the government's duty to protect the citizens, and the states from invasion. The violence should be done by our military. The roadblocks, and the wall should be put up by our Army Corps of Engineers. Anyone getting shot should be shot by either the military or the Border Guard. Chances are after the first few episodes, the illegals, smugglers, etc. would get the idea, and this would seriously go down.

Instead, our government has sold us out. People are gonna die. Badly, and in large numbers. And when the dust settles, considering the government is more than willing to punish it's own who defend the nation, chances are the assistance arriving after the first few skirmishes, will be there to extradite the Americans to Mexico.

I'm passionate about this. Because my family's life is at stake. Alot of the people on this board are passionate about this because our family's lives are at stake.

We talk about the constitution, and rights. But it ultimately comes down to our kids, and our fathers, and mothers, and all our kin. And protecting them. Making dificult decisions about the future. Do you do what your told, and risk everything, or do you let someone endanger your family's life?

Sam Tucker put it best. None of us want this to happen. We are warning the government right now. We are telling them no. We are begging. Pleading. But they are not listening to our redress of grievances. They turn their backs.

I fear, more than anything that guerilla war could begin as Sam Tucker said. If that happens, our country, as we knew it, will never be the same.

Rant Off!

PS

I still hate every one of the traitors.

I get the feeling some people here actually want something to happen so they can start shooting at someone.

I feel safer in most of the border towns in Mexico than many cities and neighborhoods I've been to in the US. There is NOTHING these people are bringing over that hasn't been here for 100 years already.

Look around in your own country, your own government. There is alot worse stuff going on then Mexicans crossing the border.
