Fiocci problems.

Actually I always look out for Fiocci. Their logo is G.F.I. I separate the Fiocci brass as fast as I can do it. I've seen this problem a few times. That is the cartridge cilinder separates from the bottom primer housing. You do not want to reload Fiocci.

Actually, the logo is G. F. L.

Separation from the case head is a completely different problem than the one that caused the recall mentioned in this thread.

Your comment is interesting in that it's the only indictment of Fiocchi brass I've ever heard. In fact, the only comments I've heard about Fiocchi brass have been quite positive.

I'm inclined to believe that someone who shoots at one or more of the ranges you frequent reloads Fiocchi brass and you're finding cases that have been used multiple times. Eventually, any case will separate from the head if it's been reloaded enough times and this is why many reloaders check for this condition prior to reloading a case.

Preacherman This Is Important!!!

Preacherman,
Do me a favor since this is important. Email me at [email protected] because i use Fiocchi OK?-although i only use the 123 grain standard or Truncated cone FMJ. :what:

DEPUTYRET THE ARMY USES BALL AMMO.....

DeputyRet,
The U.S. Army uses ball ammo so It doesn't make me wonder at all. Even .45 a.c.p. with ball ammo isn't tremendously effective. With CCI-SPEER 124 grain Gold Dot+P Hollowpoints(1220 f.p.s.) or Baffalo Bore ammo using the same bullet at 1300 f.p.s. that gets reversed!

That round gets over 1350 f.p.s. from my Browning High Power and the Gold Dot Hollowpoints are damn good in design. That's also 75% of the punch of a .357 Magnum. Not far behind the .357 SIG Auto or .357 Revolver.;)

DeputyRet,

U.S. is not switching back to .45ACP anytime in the forseeable future.

CCWMAN,

If your ammo is not FIOCCHI 9mm Luger, 115 grain, FMJ from one of the listed lots then you are ok. ALL of the available information about this recall is posted on the Fiocchi website in the link from the first post.

Even the soldiers I've spoken too recently tell me the US Military is indeed looking at switching back to .45ACP. I've read numerous articles on it. The most recent edition of SHotgun news has an article about this issue and the likely weapons that will compete for adoption.

About time I think. I think the new Springfield XD will fare well in testing. The Venerable 1911 will likely be aced out due to magaine capacity requirements and the requirement for DAO or DA operation. Too bad. It has served well for a long time.....

Yup, I've read the requirements document. But possible number of pistols purchased has been scaled back to a MUCH smaller number than originally implied.

The military may BUY a relatively small number .45ACP pistols, but they're not SWITCHING to the .45ACP anytime in the forseeable future.

I've had a great experience with fiocci ammo

I've fired over 700 rounds of 40 S&W Fiocci ammo, I think its great stuff, at least in 40 cal. Its clean, accurate, and consistent. I really like this ammo and will continue to buy it. I guess my experience is better than the other poster's on here. Compared to other ammo I've fired from Remington and Winchester, Fiocci is head and shoulders above them, in my opinion.
