I'm considering trading for one of these, it's got a 16" ss bull barrel 1/8 twist in .223 and he said it was a factory build before the company changed ownership (I'm not sure what that means). It has the fixed A2 stock.
We haven't discussed any details of the trade yet and I have only seen pics of the AR, but I'm looking for a decent predator AR. I have a nice (clean) Ruger #1 1V .223 that I have taken a few yotes with, but it is just to pretty to drag thru the woods for yote hunting. I want to do more serious yote hunting, and not being made of money, if I want something different the #1 has to go. I'm estimating the trade value of my #1 around $900 with a Simmons Model 1074 6.5x20 scope.
I don't know a ton about AR's and I can't seem to find much information online about Warrior Arms AR's, can anyone give me some insight into this?
What about the trade value? Even, or should I add $ or take off the scope?

Thanks for your help
DD

Sounds like a gunshow AR. You'd likely be better served buying an actual factory AR or buying a complete upper/lower set. Also, a 16" bull barrel is kind of silly when sub moa accuracy can be had with lightweight barrels such as LaRue or Faxon. I'd run, not walk away without knowing the detailed specs of that rifle.

We are in the golden age of $400 frankenstein ARs. No reason to not get exactly what you want. As Jackal said, 16 inch bull barrels were a silly fad. It is guaranteed to add weight, there is no guarantee any franken AR will be any more accurate than factory gun with a pencil barrel.

Thanks for the Help! I'm gonna politely decline the trade. I'm in no major hurry. My primary plan is to sell the #1 and put some cash towards someone's used Bushmaster, RRA, DD Ambush Arms, etc. dedicated predator rig in the $1,200 - $1,500 range.
I still haven't discounted a bolt gun in 22-250 though.. I just like the follow up shots with an AR platform.

22-250 is a coyote anchor. Then again, so is any 50gr HP/varmint tip moving 3000fps+. Just remember, you do not need a massive, heavy rifle for coyotes. I prefer my 7.5lb (with scope & mount), 20" lightweight. It shoots better than I do and doesnt ruin my shoulder hiking to my setup. I cant imagine having to tote a 4ft long, 12lb beast around just to shoot a 'yote.
