Thanks. It is a transitional model. No pinned barrel, but it has the recessed cylinder. I'm guessing 1981-1982

Really clean gun, I can't even see a turn line on it. Quite the gift. N800000 would be 1980-83, N900000 is 1982-86. Did you get a box/papers/tools with it?

No box or papers that I know of. We'll be going to his house this weekend. It may be somewhere.

The serial is N885xxx

You are very fortunate! The gun looks to be in excellent condition. I have a
27-2 and I really enjoy shooting it. It’s extremely accurate as well.

Floored and into the basement.

M27s are hard to come by. The ones for sale are $$$$

and family heirloom, to boot.

Congrats, that is a beauty.

May it live a long and fruitful life in your care, and may it may be passed down many decades from now to another worthy heir.

If you choose to shoot it let us know the loads you use and how it shoots for you :).

Congratulations!

Stay safe.

Nice that your SIL thought to give it to you rather than selling it.

You got a fine Christmas gift early this year.

Good luck with your new gun!

Wow indeed, so she knew where to gift it where it would be appreciated and loved.
I couldn't have said that better.

IMO I would take that girl out to the best restaurant in your area and treat her to anything she wants to eat. That is a good way to say thank you for a gift like that one.

Congratulations...

Agree completely, and this example seems to be especially true. Vinny T sounds like he will always cherish the thoughtful gift. So cool.

Very nice. It’s always good when guns stay in the family!!!
