You did good, they did good. Wow, a good result all around. I do like the letter thing though. That would be a nice touch. Something written really shows the result made a good impression on you.
 
I've been on both sides of the counter, and I'd have done what you did, and also what they did, and I often have. Sounds like good customer service to a deserving customer, and all's well that ends well. These things happen, you were well within your rights to ask for what you did, and they showed they value you as a customer. Sounds like you don't need to shop anywhere else! :)
 
I guess I just feel bad that I was so insistent LOL. They are always good to me so I hate to complain.
Expecting the other party to uphold their end of a bargain is not complaining. It's doing business in a business-like manner.
 
As a bit of an update, they have gone ahead and gave me two 7 round mags for me to use till they get the 8 rounders in. I love this store.
