I just bought a WASR 3 today for $300. It was used as a demo model for about a week, and sat in the owners safe ever since. I was wondering about this rifle as it has alot of what appears to be oil or preservative in the creases. Is this a by product of production or shoddy cleaning of cosmo or something similar. Where can I pick up more magazines? Will post pics and range report post cleaning.

You can use Weiger magazines or Romanian copies of the Weiger magazine. These are available from Century Arms.

Pro-Mag also makes a .223 AK magazine that theoretically should fit. I've never used one, so can't confirm.

Your 'oil' is most likely
...a) cosmoline (unlikely) or
...b) evidence of the angry beavers at Century milling out the mag well to accept standard military magazines, and adding parts for 922r compliance.
