Fellows,
I’m looking to get a ballpark estimate of value of a rifle. It’s a Weatherby MK V, with the fancy and beautiful wood stock. It’s in pristine shape, even though it was made in the mid 1970’s. It is chambered in
30.06 and is a LEFT handed model.
Never hunted with, and only been to the range one time in the past 40+ years.
If anyone can help with approximate value, I’d sure appreciate it.
Thanks,

R 258. Weatherby Model Mark V Deluxe Left Hand. Serial # H211077. .300 Weatherby Magnum caliber left hand bolt action rifle made in Japan. 26” barrel with an excellent bore. The bright blue finish on the metal is in excellent condition with the only wear being on the bolt knob. The checkered fancy walnut stock features a rosewood tipped forearm and grip cap and is also in excellent condition with some small scuffs. Original recoil pad. Action works fine. Includes the box, instructions, sling swivels, factory test target, and a Weatherby Supreme 3X to 9X power scope in Redfield/Leupold mounts. Sold For 1,100.00

A 26" #2 contour barrel is worth more then a 24" to some buyers. The 30-06 is less in value then a 300wb. A left hand may take longer to sell, but is equal in value as a right hand model.

Wood? Is it a Lazermark carved stock or a Deluxe? Made in Germany or Japan (1970s)?

The 1982 price, new $ 714.95 in 30-06 LH. Only 24" barrel available in 30-06. Should be a Deluxe model.

Value to me, $900. 20191027_174857.jpg Current new price $1857

If in fact from the 70s it is most likely Japan/Howa made.

Unfortunately it is not a Weatherby Mag chambering but still a good cartridge. I agree with @243winxb in what I would pay for one.

Based on 33rd Edition Gun Traders Guide and it being a Japanese made Mk V Deluxe, in pristine condition, $1200 potentially in a private sale. Will take some patience.

@50%-60% of that in sale or trade to a retailer.

Thanks to all for the help.
This one IS a Howa, and serial puts it in 1976. 8 rds fired through it in 1977, and not shot since. Too pretty to hunt with. Lol
I still appreciate it for what it is though.

The 30-06 is a great cartridge. Ammo can be found at a reasonable price.

The Weatherby ammo just got cheaper, but you still have to find it. I remember a hunter looking for a box of 300 wbm on a saturday, before the opening day on monday. There was none available in the area gunshops.

Best to be a reloader, if one owns a Weatherby Mag.
