Hello, I just put an ultimak mount and an aimpoint compc3 on my SOCOM 16. I'm about 80% sure that I was sent an aimpoint weaver ring. The gaps between the rails are .3 inches and the crossbar of the ring is .22 inches.

I read that the gap should be 5mm for Picatinny and 3.8mm for Weaver, but I don't have any metric measuring tools.

I tightened up the ring so it is very solid side to side, but if I go and fire my M1A, will the recoil shift the ring and sight slightly to the rear?

By the way, the set-up looks fantastic. The aimpoint is neat and I can see the iron sights perfectly through the scope.

Not if you put the sight on the rail and push it to the front of the notch (not the rear) before tightening it down.
