Where can I get a plain black aluminum Weaver scope base? I want it for a poor man's flashlight mount for my AR. My idea is to take the base and cut it to size to fit on the side of the front sight tower (probably with a matching peice on the other side) and to cut groves in the backside of the base to match the profile of the sight tower so that it won't slip around. Then mount a 1" diameter light to the mount with a 1" scope ring. Yes, I am really that cheap.
Am I completely out of my gourd for wanting to try this?
