Looking for a good target scope for .22 rifle NRA hunter sillywet. The currently manufactured T series scopes run about $450 after tax. A nikon Buckmaster can be had in up to 18x for about $100 less, but won't have the target turrets. Does nikon make a target scope with a 40 - 44mm lens? I don't want a scope that is a mammoth, but I do want to get into the 15 + magnification zone. Repeatable adjustments is obviously key. Any experience or suggestions is appreciated. And if you have a different suggestion for scope, love to hear it! I don't want to spend anymore than $450, frankly loathe to spend it on a scope, but thats my max.

Were it me, I'd pop for a Weaver T-36. Prolly the best rimfire scope for the $$. Nothing wrong with Nikon (to say the least), but the Weaver T series was just meant for rimfire target rifles.

My Buckmaster came with target turrets. I know, because I can't find the caps so I can take them off. I'm really pleased with it.

You may want to look at the Nikon Monarch 4-16 x 40. They can be had for under $350 shipped on ebay.

Or go with a fixed power silhouette scope.

Nikons have performed brilliantly for me.
