Weaver's New Red Dot?

No experience with it but my thoughts are that it is one worth looking into. I've been contemplating the vortex sparc red dot and am nearly sold on it. Someone will be along shortly to tell u that if it isn't a eotech or a aimpoint that it is garbage. I'm sure they only drive a Rolls-Royce also.

LOL! :cool: I took the plunge and ordered one for my Mini-14 factory tactical. I've had very good experiences with Weaver products in the past, and they seem to have thought through this red/green dot sight pretty well. I'll post my feedback after a week or so...
 
The million dollar question for me is if the dot is round, or starburst.

Since the answer will now cost $1,000,000 due to my lack of foresight, I'll just have to buy one if I want to find out. :p

I am going to try this Walther on a .22 LR next.
 
I have the Aimpoint R-1 stanless same as the H-1 Mattee. Would like to buy two more but the $520 + for each is holding me back. Hand guns keep or go up in price. Optics resale seems iffy to me. In the meantime I set up a do dad that allows me to move the Aimpoint to my different guns with a modiifed weaver mount.

Well, the Walther was out of stock. I bought my second choice from Primary Arms. (Green dot) It is very similar to my J Point. The dot is nice and round with just a little bit of bleed out, but not very much. So much better than the Sightmark I bought, which is a starburst.

Looking forward to the report on the Weaver.
 
Have you been able to shoot with that PA unit much? I saw it on their website and seriously considered it for my Buckmark. For the price and the company's reputation it seems like it should be a win but I want to hear from people who've actually used it.
 
Millertyme . sorry you lost me "PA" dont know what you mean, I shoot the same micro R-1 picuured on 357 and the glock 17l I did have it set up on a S&W 41 but sold the gun.
 
Ultra Dot is half the price of this Weaver and works well on a .45-70 Marlin. Should work on anything and lifetime guarantee.
