I now have a few British service handguns. This one was a 455 and has had the cylinder faced off to allow 45 ACP use. 1918 manufacture. 6" barrel. Can checkered wood grips be found easily? The grips are mismatched on the Webley. Is there a site for info on these monsters?

I don't know of any maker who offers grips for the Webley. As far as I know, the MkVI was only made with black bakelite grips. Also, you don't want to be shooting very much full power .45 ACP in it. If you really want to shoot it a lot, you should reload for it. IIRC, Midway has 45 auto-rim brass, RCBS makes a 262grn Webley bullet mould and .455 dies.

Here are a couple of other Fora where you will find more info.
