I've had the Webley Nemesis pistol on my radar since I found out about it, but tonight I learned that there's a rifle version that uses 88 gram Co2 cartridges instead and can get 250 shots out of those cartridges with the .22 caliber. Given what .22 rimfire is going for these days, that's a damn good deal as 88 gram cartridges can be gotten for $16 and with an adapter the typical 12 gram cartridges could be used, although IDK what the velocity would be nor how many shots per cartridge can be expected.

Advertised velocity with .22 is 550 fps and by my calculations that should be good enough for rabbits.

Oh, btw, did I mention they use a 6 or 7 round magazine that is shared with the pistol? Yeah, this looks like a major win and I can't wait to get one.

I don’t know a lot about CO2 so let me ask......

I’m under the impression that a partially-full CO2 cartridge should not be left in the gun due to seal damage. If that is true, it would be a $16 cartridge commitment every shooting session whether it’s 250 shots or 25.

Is that right?

No they have a seal that closes when removed.

OK just so I understand, you are saying that the 88 gram CO2 cartridge gets inserted and removed for each shooting session and it has a seal that keeps it from leaking? Thanks!

I shoot a couple of old bulk fill Crosmans
They stay charged all the time

Given the cost of the 88 gram cartridges, re-filling them may be a cost effective option, especially if you also have a Sodastream. Has anybody ever refilled their own Co2 cartridges before? What's the start up cost and is it worth doing?
