I'm getting married next May and I have to pick out my wedding ring. At first i thought this one was pretty sweet:

But i ended up selling my Jeep for something more practical. So now my favorite passtime is shooting. I was thinking it would be sweet to get a ring made from the bases of maybe 9mm cases (i wanted 45acp but i think that will be too wide). 32acp would be pretty cool as well. I would probably want the nickle plated cases. I did a quick yahoo image seach but found no such rings.

Most likely the fiance will put a stop to my sweet idea, but i can still dream. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Also, for some reason she doesn't like the idea of having empty shotgun shells as the place card holders on the tables at the reception. Weird.

You would think that the nickel would flake off if they smashed it into a ring. That is an interesting concept, but the soon to be wife might not take to kindly to a ring of that nature unless she shares the same passion about shooting as you do. If you find rings like that let us know. It would be neat to have. Keep us posted...Best of luck!

um for a wedding?....................

:banghead::what::confused::scrutiny:Sounds really silly to me but one thing is for sure it will be a 1 of 1 ring set.

You'll wear that ring for the rest of your life. Since you've already changed hobbies once I wouldn't saddle myself with a ring dedicated to the current hobby. Might not send the right message about your priorities at the wedding anyway.;)

Now, as a cool secondary piece of jewelery it sounds pretty neat.

Oh my.....I couldn't get past this sentence without tears welling up in my eyes. You have my deepest condolences on your loss.

I have to agree with HSO. You'll wear the ring for the rest of your life...or until you part ways, whichever comes first.
No offense, but this reminds of the CMT show; My Big Redneck Wedding ;)

haha, i'm axing that ring idea then. We are both very non-redneck (not there is anything wrong with being a redneck). I think i'll go the more traditional route with a normal wedding ring then. I like the concept of the bullet ring. it would definately be one of a kind and i guess i like that.

Yeah, i cried a little when i sold my jeep. I got a new job and was traveling way too much and i needed something a little more practical. i'm hoping to get another jeep in the next 2 years, though.

I never liked the idea of a hard metal wedding ring, gold is easy to clip off of your finger if something happens. I used to work in a machine shop & I have seen a couple mashed fingers where the ring had to be cut off due to swelling of the injury. My preference is not to have something I can't remove with a set of side cuts if I have to.

Congratulations on the weddings!!

I'll second the idea that the wedding ring needs to be purely about the wedding, not transient hobbies. I've gotten several nifty rings for the other hand (from classy artwork to bottle opener) and can swap those around as moods swing; the wedding ring, however, is once forever.

Rob, I think you chose wisely in nixing that idea. You might just find out the hard way how well your fiance can shoot.....

Ha ha, I figured a woman would come along (thankfully) and remind you of just how bad of a precedent that would set for the beginning of marital bliss. :D

I just got a simple white gold band, if I'd known about these I'd have got one of them instead.

I am getting married Tuesday. I got a Tungsten ring

A buddy of mine has one of those, I'd be worried that I'd scratch everything I held (including my firearms!). I'll just stick w/ a regular old gold comfort fit ring...
