Between black coffee, and shiftn' gears
The move to the new Warehouse wasn’t supposed to be until Monday. Everything needed to out of the old facilities by Thursday. I just happened to have arrived back in town on a Friday, and the ringer was on , on my phone.

“Listen Steve, you know my other old piddlin’ truck has that Tommy Lift ,yeah well helping out our buddy get moved, and in my garage are two Pallet Jacks, sitting in that old truck in real need of attention. I figure we could let the old truck blow out some carbon, head down to the farm and…â€

“ Saturday Works for me - I'll meet you there†I replied.

Out in the middle of dry dusty farm there sat a old Dodge truck with the Tommy Lift “upâ€. On the lift was a Pallet Jack raised up about High House height. I’ll let you folks guess where the second one was and about what height it was raised to.

So the nephews were busy loading up the Trap machines. Darndest thing, seems as if these just “jumped†into the Dodge Truck along with clay targets when all we did was stop to check on the farm house, the barn…

Now we really didn’t set up a skeet field as much as – not really sure what you’d call it. We didn’t want to shoot the Truck (not that it wouldn’t have improved it some) but the Pallet Jacks and exposed traps might be allergic to lead pellets. Sporting Clays doesn’t describe it either…birds flew, we shot, and we were having a real good time.

Fun part was as the nephews became more proficient, we could move the set up around

So we really couldn’t tell what kind of vehicle, but something was kicking up dust and heading our way. Then I recognized the vehicle and went to get another gun…

“Just what in the blue blazes are you…†I shoved a 1100 in 20 ga into the man’s hand. “Your Up†I said. Just about the time he walked “almost to†where we had one of our “stations†(and before he could turn back to say something else) I pulled a double.

The gentleman had a good time ( reluctant at first) and before he left “ You WILL have my Pallet Jacks all cleaned up and ready to go in the new Warehouse by Monday – right?.

Of all times for a guy to come down and see if he could borrow a Shop-Vac, and to see his Pallet Jacks being used…

Guy with the Dodge Truck had to inform the nephews – sometimes you don’t tell the womenfolk just exactly where the Uncle is going to take you. Thank goodness the nephews had already been â€schooled†on keeping mouths shut on what they might be doing.

Well...

...ask me about forklifts sometime ;)
