Well, i saw a thread where some one wondered why his wife liked stainless guns....

IT really depends on the gun. On rifles Im not much for stainless finishes, on my handguns I like everything from coatings to twotone to stainless or even blued. I really like the ease of maintenance on stainless, but a nice blued gun will catch my eye every time.

Blue steel with wood. I sold off all the stainless guns, the only shiny ugly guns here are hard chrome. If not for the utility of the hard chrome finish those guns would have to leave too....

I don't really care, I'm more concerned about corrosion resistance than about the color of the finish. I live in a pretty humid/wet climate, and guns that aren't pretty well protected against moisture tend to rust. I like Glocks, stainless/alloy revolvers, etc. for this reason, but their color means nothing to me.

I have a 45 in stainless and a 9mm in black. Guess I got both bases covered. Long as they go bang I like both types.

Corrosion and wear resistance trumps color & finish.

I guess I'd prefer something not shiny for concealment purposes.

One stainless with rubber, one blue with wood, two plastics (One black, one green and black).

my home defense gun is blue (stays warm n comfy) my carry gun is stainless. is being handled a lot, & goes out rain or shine, both are Colt commanders.

I prefer darker finishes same as beer, coffee and women.
