As others here have mentioned, I tear the labels off of empty 1 pounders and pour a larger container into it.
Using a computer label, I note what the powder is as well as the lot number in case there's a recall.

Thats a good note right there. I recently switched 8lbs jugs of Retumbo, and theres some 4 years difference between the purchase date. So while i remember right now, I might not remember in 2 or 3 months if that 1lb jug i just filled to the brim is from the new stock or old, or in this case both as i still has a small amount remaining of my old stock.
