Got a late start, but that worked in my favor, given all the activities this we in "The Cultural District."

Rather a lot of folk wandering around the aisles. Not a ton of buying going on, but enough to keep the vendors busy.

Say many interesting things. Like the example of a Beretta .25, like the one I bought years ago, on sale for under a c-note with a US$400 price tag o_O

There was an entire table of Carbines, in definitely Collector Condition, all well out my price range (although I had significant lust for the NPM Carbine with a Type 1 band on it).

I found a (as in one) spare mag for my (new to me) Astra A-70, the $25 price tag was also nice. Grabbed a couple of boxes of Aguila 9x19 off my bros from Brenham, mostly as they were a couple of bucks cheaper than my LGS.

All in all a pretty good show, if one spent more gabbing with the vendors I know than passing cash back and forth.

Good to hear about the current state of gun shows around the country.

Last weekend, I went to the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, Virginia (a suburb of D.C.). Hadn't been to it since before the pandemic.

Petty much the same vendors were there, with some notable absences. The mix of things for sale was also the same. I didn't find the things I was specifically looking for, although I did get to visit with a few old friends. The outing ended up costing me the $14 admission, plus most of my afternoon.

I went on Gun Broker when I got home, and easily found the items that I couldn't find at the show. I should have gone on Gun Broker to begin with, and skipped the show altogether.

I used to like going because of the good deals on accessories and sometimes ammo. Of course i liked looking at all of the guns. I need to start going again.

If I go to a gun show and actually find anything gun related that I'm interested in buying, I call that a bonus.

For a few decades now I've looked at gun shows as cheap entertainment to occupy me for 2-3 hours. For $10, give or take, I consider that a fair deal.

I look for guns I'm interested in that I can check for fit/feel in my hands. (I generally won't buy a gun without first doing this, and not all local gun shops will necessarily carry what I may be interested in.)

They're good places to find little knick-knacks and tinker tools, though.

Anyway, glad you got something out of it!
