my local LGS had mentioned they had the new ruger 1911 in stock and they had a ruger 1911 commander in stock on facebook last night... luck had it I was working a block over this a.m and went to looksy at the gun and what I would get it for. Long story short one of the ruger sr1911 commanders has my name on it sittin in lay away. I should have thrown it on the card but thought better. This will be my second non colt 1911 the first being an old springfield from back in the days that all the custom smiths used them and Jack Best built my dot sighted "Wad-Gun". I am lookin foward to this lil beast and it is likely an early birthday gift to myself.
Should make a decent carry gun with a the few from the factory add ons as the extended beaver tail- long trigger and the novak sights... we shall see!
