Well, I got one but it wasn't a yote!

I was up in my ladder stand, hit the call a couple times with the rabbit in distress, then went to a cat in distress, took a few minutes of rest, then hit the rabbit call again. I saw a flash of bluish fur go by and hurried up and reached down and hit the call button again ( it was on the low sound setting ) and that sucker turned right around and into a very small opening! I put it right behind the shoulder, set the trigger on my Hawken and sent a .490" round ball driven by 90 grains Black MZ right into him. I had ear plugs in due to the call and my already ringing ears I've developed recently, but I heard him let out a screech and wheel around a couple times before racing off.

I got down, reloaded and went to the place where he was standing and found a puff of hair and some bright red blood. Did a big circle, searching through all the thick oak brush and half way around, I found him on the edge of the opening!

Shes all fleshed, washed and now on the stretching board, drying in front of the 100,000 btu heater.

Good afternoon,
Makes you wonder what call would Aliens use for our species: "CHEEEESEBURGER....CHEESEBURGER....BEEEEER....BEER!" Or the rarer but still effective: "PIZZZZZAAAAA!" *chuckles*
regards all,

nice job on the grey! we used to have tons of them here in sw mo.

we have so many coyotes now I think they have run out most of the foxes. or that's my theory anyway.

Im really really digging that brass tack design youve got on the hawken. Did you do it yourself, have it done, or did the gun come that way? May i use ur design as a starting template for my own personal design?

Nice job but looks like a hole big enough to stick my head through. Don't think that one will sew up well. LOL Yotes not uncommon around here but few fox around.

its actually not a huge hole, just blood splatter where he had laid down and it leaked out. Quarter size hole in and out on him. I got him all washed up and stretched. Not going to tan him this year. Hide is rubbed down in salt and I will hang him up in the cold shop for the rest of the year. Just a nice decoration to remember.

We had a local furrier who would hand-make hats out of many different furs in all kinds of styles.
We've all seen those full fox hats that include the face, tail and the rest.
But how many people who wear them actually shoot or trap their own?
Congrats, that's a beautiful trophy!
