Came out dropping $500.00 on this 4" 66-1. No box, a few minor scratches on the frame under the cylinder release, Pachmayr Presentations rather then the original grips, but otherwise it's in really nice shape (No buggered screws, rifling looks good, endshake/lockup is tight, etc.).

I sold a 4" 19-4 many years ago and regretted it, so this 66-1 will be a fine replacement.

It was a consignment gun so there wasn't any haggling room... and in Ca finding an older gem like this is rare as they get snapped up within hours of being put on the shelves. I felt OK spending the $500 on it.

Now I have to wait for the "pawn shop delay" to allow the sale to commence, and then the "ten-day waiting period" to pick it up by late June. Gotta love Ca's onerous laws. :barf:

Oh, I also bought some .22 mini mag HPs and .22 Mag 50 gr Federal JHP so I could stay true to my intended purpose!

Stay safe.

Definitely a case of good karma going on there, like you were meant to have that Model 66!

Sad that you have to wait so long before you can get it but I'm sure it will be well worth the wait!

Enjoy the anticipation of getting your new gun and a full range report when you get a chance!

Why would you have to wait 10 days to take a gun home after being it? That seems strange to me. I'm not trying to start anything, I just see it as useless.

It’s the Ca state 10-day waiting period.

It is allegedly to prevent “heat of the moment” killings and allow Ca DOJ to do a background check on the buyer. “For the children” of course.

In reality it’s just one more hoop gun buyers have to go through to buy a gun. The folks know they can’t ban all guns outright, but it’s death by a thousand cuts with more and more restrictions they keep getting away with. Their dream is sooner or later gun buyers will go away like dinosaurs.
