Went into Cabelas, I was surprised at what I saw

Our Cabela's in Boise doesn't look close to that, shelves are usually bare when I head in there.

Nearest Bass Pro is over an hour away. I just shop in the internet for components.

Ours in Texas keeps most of the powder/primers behind the gun counter. And they have nowhere near that selection. It is a brand new store so maybe they're feeling the market out. Interesting note that the Academy Sports started carrying components as that Cabela's opened up down the road! I like to see this moving more main stream.

When do you think they will be having their next components sale?

I will be stopping at the Columbus, Ohio Cabela's on likely Friday and actually powder is on my list so we shall see what they have.

Lehi Utah I don't know what they have now but last I was there powder is all behind the gun counter. And usually too many chatters at the counter causing irritating wait times to pick up a can.

I hate to ruin it for you but they don't have that much. You'd be better off stopping at Fin, Feather and Fur in Ashland, OH on your way down. When I was there a few months ago they had an EXCELLENT powder selection.

Yea Ron, take a short left on 250. Last week FFF had all three of the powders I was after. That hasn't happened in years.

Haven't been to the closest (Cbus) Cabelas in a few months, so can't speak to what they have now.

They reduced the price for Xtreme plated bullets... they are less than what you can buy them direct from Xtreme for. (Even with the free shipping)

Thanks for the mention of Fin, Feather and Fur. Thanks also for the heads up on the Columbus store, I still have $40 in Christmas gift cards. I'll stop at Fin and likely still visit Cabela's, if nothing else chocolate covered peanuts and dog treats.

Thanks Again
Ron

Bass Pro here in Little Rock has been well stocked with primers and powder for about a year now.

Of course at $32 a pound for the powder and $49 per 1k on primers I haven't bought much.

Barring government conspiracy, I think all the old timers expect this to happen, eventually. A huge glut of components and powder sitting around until the next rush.

I will be more surprised if all the stores aren't overflowing with powder at some point in the near future. There's nothing like a panic/shortage to get people to buy more than they need in 3 lifetimes.

The last 3 or 4 times I've been in a Cabelas they have had a pretty good stock of components, they are just priced too high, so I always pass...

@OilyPablo

If your in Southern Washington, like my neck of the woods... you are very close to that stock, take a look see.
