The merchandise was good, prices were fair, the crowd was fairly light, I was pleasantly surprised.

A few of the good deals to be had :

1) XD-M 40 for $599
2) Bushmaster AR's for around $900
3) Hunting rifles galore in all calibers .223-.375, anywhere from $400-$600.

Overall, the gun prices were very competitive, fair.

I went looking for reloading components, specifically large rifle primers and .308 brass. I found a bag of 100 once fired Winchester .308 for 15 bucks, 15 bucks!:D There was a table full of Wolf large rifle primers for 35 bucks, 35 bucks!:D I bought myself a brick, now I'm set for my .308 loading. I was getting low on large rifle, so this was a good score.

No offense but I wouldn't consider those prices any sort of deal. Right about market price or just a bit over actually. You can get that XD from this online source for $575 shipped. Maybe it's just regional price differences.

Thats only 25 dollars less than he posted. To save the 24 dollars you wont get to handle and inspect the exact gun you purchase, and you will be paying an FFL fee. Its really a wash. I think what the op was saying is that the prices arent inflated like they were just a few months ago.

I too went to a gun show Saturday. There were some really good deals there. Especially on the used stuff, used Glocks for $400 to $500, I saw an XD40 for $450, Rugers for $250 to $350... There were people trying to sell the Sigma 9mm and .40 for $350 and a table selling Hi-Points for $180 which both "deals" are outrageous... I did see A LOT of .380 ammo for a decent price. Also, you can't beat the NRA Membership for $13...

Went last weekend to the Austin show, and it has changed promoters. Very sad. I thought it, and my buddy said it out loud, "Where's the other half?" However, the prices do seem to be coming down to semi realistic on guns. Ammo still high.
