I Went To A Gun Show Today

Glad you got to hit a show J-Bar.

I really like gun shows, even the the lame little ones.
The next nearest scheduled gun show is in 2 weeks 79 miles away. I will go. The next one near me is scheduled for mid-August.
Hopefully they will happen. Somehow a new CoVid emergency will probably muck things up...

We have a show scheduled in my area in 2 weeks and I hope it doesn’t get cancelled. I enjoy browsing the aisles, but the biggest reason I go is for reloading supplies. There are usually good choices and fair prices and I’m running low on 2 powders I commonly use.

The ATF should be creeping around gun shows since "firearm" is kind of in their name.
If rumors of "the ATF creeping around" keeps some people away...

The gunshow(s) I frequent, yes, they are there posing as regular shoppers, on occasion. The UNIFORMED DEPUTY SHERIFFS at the door and the other local agencies HIRED BY THE SHOW PROMOTERS walking around thru the show are sometimes yes / no uniformed, but always have a shield out and I.D. usually around the neck. And, there are undercovers moving thru the crowds.

And yes, there are deals. Found ammo CHEAPer earlier this year. And mags. Think $8.50/50 9mm FMJs, and $10 a Gen3 (Gen THREE) PMAG. Didn't need or use either, moved along. Yup, the next table had a bunch of JuNk. That particular show has a % limit of stuff, must be firearm or firearms related...

****I want the gunshow(s) to keep on going. If Nancy and Lemmings, Inc. want them gone or heavily regulated, MUST B SUMTH'N GOOD ABOUT THEM...

I enjoy going , haven't been to one since this whole Covid thing, great way to spend the day with the grandson. Len

I enjoy going to gun shows, not to find that mint Luger for $300, but to see and fondle guns I've read about. I have found magazines that aren't in production any more. I enjoy talking with the people at the shows vendors and customers. Beats waiting in the car or setting in the abandoned husbands chairs at the front of a women's clothing store.

Masks were not required, but I wore one since my missus and I are over 70. Not many visitors and only a few exhibitors wore masks.

And that's exactly why I won't go to a show. A mask doesn't necessarily protect you, it mostly prevents you from spreading the virus. If few people around you are wearing masks, then you're getting whatever they have.

Now that authorities are relaxing contact rules, the testing positive numbers are going up again, big time. This thing is not going away, so until they develop a good vaccine, I'm still avoiding crowds.

Well, I'm involved in HR at a manufacturing company, so covid and safety are constantly on my mind. I went to a gun show in OKC two weeks ago. I was wearing a mask, as were two employees, but that was it with about 200 shoppers. Plus social distancing was non existent.

No gun shows for this almost .7 of a century guy, thanks, until there's an effective vaccine..

I'm sure mentioning the 'C' word might get this closed(mentioned above already) but....

Expect another about July 14-20..

I don’t blame you for not wanting to go. You have to be careful.

If I get to go to that show in two weeks, I will wear a mask. I will carry hand sanitizers too. I will not handle things without permission so they can sanitize “touch areas” if they like. I would probably also carry gloves, just in case I see a gun that I want to handle and inspect. But if that show’s open and I have the time, I am going.

I will not handle things
At the FW show there were three vendors had their tables covered up in blankets--which looks odd, like they are packing up of the day or something. They seemed to be having business, as, if you asked, and they had it, it was for sale. And people were buying. Pretty much, every table with chairs to fill in 4473s had someone standing behind the chair (usually at a decent distance) waiting on NICS.
