West German P225

The West German SIG P225 that I picked up last week has the smoothest trigger I have ever experienced with a handgun. Double action pull is quite heavy but smooth and the single action is nice. It has a date code of JK which correct me if I am wrong equates 1989? I really like the bar-dot sight picture versus the three dot picture. The barrel and the hammer have a slight plum color to it; why is this? I am going to assume that this gun had never been fired, other than at the factory, because I noticed some wear on certain points, which before shooting were not present. The finish has been through a holster-gauntlet giving the SIG some nice “characterâ€. Overall I am impressed as hell and may have this refinished.

Some of own SIGS have slight plum color too. Believe some steels don't take bluing as well as others. Personally have grown to like it.

Of the DA/SA pistols have owned any of the SIGS have had beat them for trigger pull too! Nice that you got an all-German SIG with the great proof-marks, etc.!

The 225 is without a doubt my favorite Sig (and I own all the classics). It is just a great gun. My 1984 proofed gun also has one of the best triggers of any of my other sigs (all stamped W. Germany)

The P225 stands head and shoulders above other 9mm's. It's not your usual wondernine. The engineering is excellent, the action smooth and the craftsmanship telling. It fits the hand like a glove. I miss mine on a daily basis.

Simply one of the finest 9mm ever manufactured by anyone... anywhere... anytime.

My wife loved mine so much that it is now her personal carry piece, and that is absolutely fine by me!
