Wet tumbling blues

I use Burt's Bees lip balm for expander mandreling necks. Lightly coat the mandrel not each case and it goes a long way. I would say use it like Imperial sizing wax. It's easier to use Burts for the fact running the stick where the balm comes out flush it prevents too much being applied.

We are talking about wet tumbling - not your lube. o_O. I posted in the wrong thread ONCE too.

Cheers,

I must be doing this reloading thing all wrong, I wash fired cases in Dawn and hot water, allow to dry, then size and decap, expand, then wet tumble, sort by headstamp and # of times fired, allow to dry, then store awaiting further processing. It works for me on my rcbs Rockchucker(1975)
Thank you and keep on loading.

My brass is too clean and sticks to dies.

Can I dry tumble in corn cob with nu finish car wax to add lube to the pistol case and lock in the brightness of the shine?

Will nu finish have an adverse affect on the ammo I load, I am filling ammo cans for future events so some may not be opened for 10-20 years.

You should send all of your processed brass to me. I have a state of the art, environmentally (uhh green certified ;)) controlled storage facility that is ISO 9002 certified.

Ive run Dawn and Lemishine for years now. Ive had issues with straight wall cases sticking a bit. I use a little OneShot, let it flash off, dump it in the case feeder and load like usual. I have tried various different products, none really seemed to make that much of a difference to me. I also dont care if my brass stays perfectly shiny, so if it tarnishes a bit to a darker color, whatever. It doesnt effect how it shoots.

Dawn and hot water for 20 minutes. Pour off dirty water. Dawn and hot water again for 30-60 minutes. Nice and shiny. Runs through my Lee turret with Lee dies with no problem. I’ve tried lubing cases with lanolin/isoheet. While it’s necessary for rifle, I don’t find it’s worth the trouble for 9mm.

Most comments here seem to be about the sizing operation. The only sticking I’ve had has been with the expander (powder funnel on the Dillon). That mostly went away when I switched to wash-n-wax. The other option is to not use the pins, this will leave some of the combustion byproducts inside the case, which acts as a sort of lube.
