What 1911 and other books do you reccomend for me?

I have a number of barnes and noble cards and I'd like to buy a few books. I want a book that explains every aspect of the 1911, I know alot about the 1911, but I want to know everything there is to be known about the internal workings of the gun and how to modify it(fitting the bushing, hood of the barrel, trigger etc...)

I hear massad ayoob has some good books, but I don't want to read about something I already know. I'm open to other suggestions for good reads. My SN is mr smooches 824.

yes the sweeney book is HIGHLY worth the time and effort to read.

The kuhnhausen shop manuals, both volumns, are worth their weight in gold.

I did a search at BN.com and couldn't find them. Perhaps they would special order? Regrettably, Barnes & Noble cards wouldn't help much with Amazon or Brownells.

Another vote for the two Kuhnhausen books, they are very detailed about all the inner workings of the 1911, and how to troubleshoot / repair them.
