What 22 pistol do you like to use for target shooting?

The Ruger Mark II is my hands down favorite. Mine is the standard model with 6 inch tapered barrell. I bought it new in 1982 and it still shoots just fine. In my opinion, you can't beat a Ruger!

"Target Shooting" implies precision, consistancy, and quality sights. While plinkers never recieved those refinements some .22's were specifically designed for target competitons. (High Standard's, Colt's, and the Smith & Wesson 41's)

Ruger MkII slabside Target model with cocabolo grips. Mount a nice Millett red dot sight on it and I can group a half dollar all day long at 50 yards!

High Standard Citation. It's my competition gun.

I started with a Ruger MkII. Almost everybody I know who shoots bullseye competition started with a Ruger MkI or MkII. A few started with S&W Model 41s, but it's at least three to one in favor of the Ruger.

PistolNewbie...........your Buckmark will give you years of fun, accurately shooting at whatever targets you put in front of it......whether it be paper targets, golf balls, bowling pins, pop cans, clay pigeons or even a G.I. Joe action figure bought at a garage sale. They work well on squirrels and rabbits also. Enjoy.

I'd have to say .. I don't. I have a Beretta Neos, but I'm always considering selling it. Its not that I don't like the gun, the gun is fine, it's that I really just don't have any interest in the .22 caliber. I always bring it, and almost never use it. Sure it's affordable, but it bores me. When I say that to other shooters I almost always get comments along the lines of "well, you just haven't been shooting long enough to understand" and "A good 22 is such a pleasure, you'll get over wanting to shoot those big guns" .. blah blah blah .. well, I've been shooting for 18 years now and I still have no interest.

I'm shooting targets but not really "target shooting".

I'm doing a good bit of target shooting with a Crimson Trace equipped Beretta 21A.
Normally I like plinking with the Beretta but I got the laser to reduce the cost of laser practice with the centerfire guns.

I have a Ruger 22/45 for target practice.

+1. Mine goes to the range with me EVERY time I go shooting and I always put at least 50 rounds through it.

On top of target stuff it is also a fun "play" gun. I like to do alot off the same defense drills with it that I do with my other carry guns just because it's so damn much fun.

Blistering Double taps that sound like 1 shot into the black at 15 yards are as much fun to shoot as being 8 years old and getting a new Red Ryder on Chrismas morning! :D

Kinda fond of this one.

I like them all, but my favorite is Colt. My wife shoots a S&W 22A. I've always wanted a S&W Model 41. I've tried Rugers and liked them, but I really fell in love with a Colt Model .22. I wish I knew how to post a pic.
