What 9mm Next?

Short of another Hi Power or a 1911 there isn't much at that price range to provide that wow factor. As a though, you might consider a bit of upgrading if it hasn't been done already. That's one thing that has given a number of my pistols a new personality and me a renewed interest in plowing through ammo with them.

Best in the world with the Browning??? http://www.garthwaite.com/
That's what the rumor is.

Since you said you sort of liked the S&W Model 39. I recently ran across a Model 39, factory chromed with aftermarket real Ivory grips. I wish I had taken a photo. Very pretty gun and very unique in my opinion. He claimed it had never been fired. The guy wanted $1,000 but who knows. PM me and I'll give you contact info.

That's more than I'd want to spend. Thanks though.

I will give the CZs a look. I just bought my first CZ a few months ago and have yet to shoot it. Bought a 455 Varmint in 22lr. Came with a very nice piece of walnut stock. Maybe I will give their pistols a try.

Olympus

How about a CZ75 or some such variant? I'm a big fan of the Hi-Power design because its grip shape fits my small hand perfectly. The CZ75 is one of the few double stack 9mm.s that feel as good as the Hi-Power.

Lots of votes for the CZ 75. I guess I better get out to a shop to do some fondling.

Been looking at that Witness Match Elite and it seems to get very good reviews online. Price at Bud's is like $568 with free shipping. Can it really be that good considering the modest price?

Some of the ones I mentioned in post #8 are CZ clones. The Baby Eagle, AR-24 and the Witness line from Tanfoglio. Many will say why get a clone when you can get the real thing (CZ). I have nothing against CZs, but my understanding is that Tanfoglio made some slight improvements to the CZ design in their Witness line. And the Armalite AR-24 is supposed to be an improvement over the Tanfoglio version. The AR-24 that I held felt wonderful in hand. No other handgun has felt so 'right' to me. But the price on this particular gun was not right. Aftermarket is almost non-existent for the AR also.

But check out the CZs and the Witnesses.

Yes. The Witness Elite Match is that good. THey are very popular in competitive shooting in Europe.

If you want to fondle a CZ, see if you can find a PCR or P-01. Problem is that once you pick it up, you can not put it down.

I went to my LGSs and checked out the CZ 75. Very nice gun. But it just feels too similar to my HP. I was hoping for something a little different. None of the shops had any Witness models for me to check out.

A non-polymer gun that is kinda unique and fun to shoot without being overly expensive but, doesn't feel like your Hi-power...Maybe a Kahr T9? I think I saw one on buds for about 650. I love my K9's and the T9 is just a little bigger and overall a very nice shooter.

Wasn't aware that Kahr made a non-polymer frame model. I will check it out.

K9 ordered from CDNN last Friday. It's a compact version but adheres to the Kahr family looks wise. Solid performers with a wow of their own but different than HP wow. Single-stack so they won't eat through the ammo as fast.

Yes they are that good. Don't let the price fool you. If you get it make sure you get the mags with black followers marked "K9." The orange follower large frame 9mm mags are prone to problems. The black follower mags are the new OEM mags made by Mec Gar. They run flawlessly.
