What a fine collection of Firearms

Wow....that's just down the road an hour from me. Too bad it's on a Wednesday. If it was on the weekend I'd go just to see all of them.

Wow, how boring. Loads and loads and loads of hunting rifles, hunting shotguns...some .22 rifles there.Seems like he's got the whole Winchester, Browning, and Remington catalogs right there.

It takes some real planning to acquire that many guns and not have anything particularly interesting... :uhoh:

What they said, +1.

Not too much worth looking at, but there were 7 or 8 I'd like to have. As many NIB as he had, I wonder if he ran a shop. And whenever he decided to close down, he just filled out the 4473 and signed everything in the book over too himself.

But most of the interesting guns are the used guns. IE, a 200th year marked Blackhawk in .30 carbine. That's a combo that I've never seen before, but now I know they exist.

I agree with Virgil and Ian, looks like he just bought whatever came in at the store. I daresay I could find some guns in there to bid on until Auction Fever took the price above retail, but it is not what I would call an interesting collection. Just kind of an extravagant accumulation.

man, there is not a gun store within 100 miles of me hat thas that kind of inventory, maybe not even all of them put together! but it is to far for me to drive to.

LOL. Sorta what I was thinking.

But it is particularly sad to see a lifetime collection sold while the collector is still alive. Such things should be passed down to the generations. Some of the most important firearms in my collection belonged to my father and grandfather.
