Montana Bullet Works has been my preferred bullet maker. However, in the year and a half I have used him Dave has been out of business for a total of about 5 months in 2 separate incidents.

In October he had the following note on his web page 10/16/13 - Due to an upcoming surgery, I will not be taking new orders at this time. Please check the website mid-November for notice when I will be back at work and taking orders again.

He still has the note on his webpage and has not answered my recent email asking how he was doing after the surgery.

The last time he was off I ordered from Beartooth. They were so slow that Dave actually returned before Beartooth shipped my order, so I cancelled and ordered with Dave, who always gives great service.

I am concerned about him. But I don't know him personally, so I don't know his age or health history. I like doing business with him and hope he gets back in business soon.

One way or another I need to order some bullets and only Montana and Beartooth seem to have bullets in the oversized diameters I like.

Does anyone have any recent knowledge on Dave at Montana Bullet Works?

I'm sorry. I forgot to include SDS casting. Great lead bullets

Before you buy from Penn Bullets search this forum and view the results. I have no experience with them, but was put off by Bob's attitude toward other members of this forum.

One thing about BOB'S ATTITUDE,

HE KNOWS HIS STUFF.

He has his OWN FOUNDRY, blends, lubes.

He works with MANY COMPETITION SHOOTERS.

He has a 150,000 member CUSTOMER BASE.

His projectiles are worth the wait.

Bob also recently LOST HIS FATHER he also lost his more experienced

caster to an auto accident mishap.

PENN BULLETS WORK, and Bob's a good person to work with for your cast needs.

This is posted on MBW front page now:

"11-11-14 I am sorry to report that due to a recent spinal fusion surgery and the resultant permanent limitations on lifting and other movements, I can no longer operate MBW. In fact, MBW if FOR SALE. If you are interested in buying MBW, please email me and I can provide information on current assests, inventory, etc."

I'm going to guess that date should read 01-11-14 or perhaps 11-11-13?

.

That is a bummer.
I have been buying BPCR bullets from Mr Jennings ever since I resumed shooting after The Incident. I do not look forward to having to resume casting.

Dardas and Penn?
If they sell 405 grain .40-65 bullets with black powder lube, it is news to me.
