I carry 124gr Speer Gold Dots, not the +P (as far as I know, they're not +P...could be wrong).
One of the great advantages of Gold Dots is that Speer also makes their FMJ "Lawman" brand, which has identical ballistics as the Gold Dots, so one can practice with the same recoil, ballistics, and so forth of the Gold Dots for a much more reasonable cost.
Any brand-name hollowpoint should perform well regardless of brand. Remington, Speer, Winchester, Federal, etc. should all perform well.
Heck, I've heard of WWB JHPs performing really well too. If you can shoot it frequently enough to become proficient (i.e. it's inexpensive) and you can put the lead on-target accurately, it doesn't really matter if you're using a WWB JHP or some uber-mega hollowpoint from some other company that costs 10x more.
