what AR-15 upper

do i buy?i'm thinking rock river,dpms,busmaster
just want a standard 20inch a2 upper (chrome)
they are all around $550 with the barrel i want
i have to say i'm leaning towards the dpms
rock river being my second
double star was on my list untill i read a post afew min ago about a new upper with burr in the barrel
and stag has crossed my mind......
i know everybody is going to say buy colt.......but its not on my list and will not

if you don't like waiting, call to see if they have it in stock. i just ordered my bushy patrolman a3 upper and it's being back ordered, 4-6 weeks wait time.

Take a look at CMMG, too. I have 2 of their lowers.
Good stuff, although I wish they offered a "varmit" type upper.

Stag, CMMG, RRA, etc all make good uppers that are widely available.

i have the most experience with bushaster, so that is what i am gonna suggest.

Almost all of the major brands make good uppers. If you aren't picky about things like parkerizing under the front sight base then you don't need a Colt LE upper (or LMT or Sabre upper for that matter). I've actually had very good experience with an Olympic complete upper as it was, and all the parts continue to serve me well moved over to a FN flat top upper. Olympic is the Savage Arms of the AR-15 world; they aren't pretty, the money's in the barrel not the finish, they like shoot like a house on fire, and they're inexpensive.

You have to ask yourself what you are going to use the rifle for...
If your not sure your going to want to use iron sights in the future though get an A3 upper from Bushmaster or an A4 from Armalite so you have a rail to attach optics to...

I'd go with RRA, I have 2 of thier uppers and they've both run 100%

Bushmaster & DPMS would be my second choices.

I went with CMMG for my 20" build. The great thing about CMMG is that they offer gov't and medium profile barrels. I believe all of the companies you listed come standard with heavy profile barrels, but they are all great companies.

blackwinch for what i do with my AR the 16 inch upper thats on it will work fine lol i just realy enjoy shooting 100-200yd range with open sights its fun(to me)the main reason i want the 20inch upper is i like the balance they have better.shooting off-hand balance meens allot well it does to me anyway
i guess the way a rifle feels to you has allot to do with your size/height etc.
