Go with the Colt and if you know where one's in stock at a good price let me know because a friend asked me this moring to pick up one for him. He's talked about it for a couple months and picks this week to pull the trigger. :-(

Also for a extra question (im curious) What do you Guys here think of the "EVIL" Ak47?
Sold my last one in Nov ’08 for big bucks (Thank You Mr. Pres… :) ). Ergonomics are crap. The stock pull is made for a 5 ft commie.

Right now today?

Any one you can still find on a dealers shelf for sale would be the one to get.

Last week, the Colt would have been the one to get.

Local gun store owner said he sold every AR he had, close to a hundred, over the last two days and has no idea when he'll be able to get anymore. He said after he ran out, folks were offering him $1500 for guns he normally sells for $800 - $900 if he could only find them one.

With that said, hope you can find one in stock for a reasonable price.

Wasn't trying to bum you out or anything. But at this point getting a new one may be a difficult task.

Also, sorry I didn't offer advice on the brand. I don't have experience with either in ARs. I love Colt handguns of all types so that is the way I'd lean, but I've never shot either.

Its ok I have made my Mind up if I can scrape up enough money and if they are for the right price i will Get the colt, if things work out that is if not I might have to settle for a AK or a Bolt gun

You gotta admit it's kinda like Rumpelstiltskin waking up in Ethiopia and asking the nearest famine victim "what's good, steak or lobster?".

Either one would be fine. The problem is how will you get the mags and the ammo?

If I wanted a gun for plinking and HD, I would just buy a 22 rifle, a brick of ammo and call it a day.

Might be a while before you see racks of AR's in the local GS's.
I would think the Saigas are selling pretty well the past few days as well.
