Hey Guys

I have a long time friend who's going thru some hard fiscal times.........well that meant fire sale time.

He new over the years I have eyed his Taurus PT 101 AF 40 S&W......well neeeding the money he said the pistol,3 mags and a box of assorted bullets.......now get this $75..........after the salivating stopped.......and those damn morals.....loality to friendship kicked in I told him that I would give him $150 for the lot.....as a pawn type deal once he gets him self back up on his feet he could buy the lot back.......I admit a little part of me was tempted .....just for a minute to take the deal as is.........DAMN MORALS :banghead:

Well anyone have one???? thought of getting a .357sig barrel for it.....but that is down the road.

Just thought I'd share(brag) about my good fortune

A good friend of mine fell on hard times so I bought his entire gun collection
for blue book. I gave him the buyback option 5 years ago.

Kahr K40

Beretta 92F

Ithaca field grade 12g double

H&R topper .410

Savage 110 Stainless 30-06

Norinco AK hunter

I don't expect him to ever buy his guns back so I'll enjoy them in the meantime.

One45 - hey, that's mean!!! :D

Rusher - I am glad your integrity kicked in - if a guy is down on luck and having to sell stuff - firearms in particular, then the least we can do is give a reasonable amount - plus of course leaving the door open for buy-back. This is a good and fair way to help a friend.

This way - both sides come out Ok - one has at least some return on investment. The other has a great deal.

I once gave a coworker $100.00 for a NIB Colt Woodsman. A few months later she offered to buy it back for $200.00. Since it had belonged to her dad, I gave it back to her for $100.00. Just call me an old softie.

Two of the most profound statements I have ever read.

Thank you, one45auto.

2 years ago around Christmas time a friend of mine was in a bind for money and was going to sell a Rem. 700 SS 300UM with a nikon scope for $500. I told him that I would buy it and offered to let him buy it back for the same price when he got the money. He refused the buy back deal. About 16 months later I run into him on a job and he asked if I still had the gun, of course I did. Then he asked if he could buy it back. I made him sweat it for a couple of days, before I sold it back to him. If it had been someone else he would have been S.O.L.!! I would have loved to have kept it :banghead: , but I knew his wife bought it for his birthday that year. That's what moral get you!!! :D

Once bought a Model 629 at a gun show that a good friend was drooling over. Unfortunately, he didn't have the cash at the time and it was too good a deal for me to pass up. Turned out to be a really sweet shooting gun and I put a lot of rounds through it. About a year later he asked if I would sell it to him, which I did for what I had in it. Never have regretted it, one of the very few times I have sold a gun without any seller's remorse. Now we both have .44 mags. and some pretty good competition.

Seems to me that, with the exception of some gun show dealers, most shooters are straight up folks who want to treat others fairly.

Grid fergive me, but Mr. Menchen is plumb loco on this one! Sheeyit,
if he'da seen the bimbo I usta date back in the 70s diff-wise the plumb
saint I married...well, they very differnt.

Pe(but it may have been the drugs back then)et

Peet- so glad someone pointed this out. (Probably was the drugs that made her a bimbo.) Not that I was offended by the quote (quite the contrary) Feel kinda sorry for the poor fella- he just hasn't met any of the few good women in this world. Trust me, women feel the same about men- the good ones are few and far between. Though many seem to be right here on THR. The natural order of selection (for keeping stupid people from breeding) has been altered by the implementation of rediculous anti gun laws and the changing of the times. The morality of friends and fellow gun owners should never go out of style. We gotta look out for one another.......what goes around comes around, ya know?

somewhat similar situation happening with me right now. my buddy who lives with me (kicked out of his house and so on) is in bad fiscal shape. lately i have been lending him money so he can go out and buy food with it as he also lost his job a few months back. anyways ive been saving up alot fo the money i come by for an svt-40 at my local mil-surp store. anyways since thats the only money i have i keep lending him bits and peices of it. currently he ows me 60-70 and i dont get on him about paying me back. i hate lending it because i want that gun so bad i can taste it, but hes my freind and he needs help. he's also a fellow gunny like the rest of us.
