Taurus PT 101 AF Help needed

Hello guys


I just was handed a PT 101 AF.....thru a rather nice deal from a long time friend.....well there was no manual included.......disassembly was easy enough but I couldnt figure out for the life of me how to get the firing pin out to clean that little part of the assembly. I went to taurus's web site their .PDF file on the exploded view could barely be read/seen....any advice/instructions would be greatly appreciated.

On the underside of the slide there is a plunger that you have to push in.

This should allow the firing pin to come out of the rear with the spring.

I tried that .......pushing down on the button/plunger and then pushed on the firing pin........I have tried different depths of pushing to see if there is a sweet spot........my buddy didnt clean it well so could be some junk stopping it from sliding out...??

I have a PT100. I haven't shot, and therefore cleaned it, in a long time. But, if I remember correctly, you need to remove the extractor before the firing pin may be removed. Punch out the extractor pin from the underside of the slide...be careful not to lose the extractor lever spring. You should then be able to push in the firing pin safety plunger, and remove the firing pin and spring.
