Always a problem when I watch the news:cuss: Brokaw and NBC this evening showing our troops in Kuwait loading their own strippers from boxes that looked like Hansen ???

Anyone else see this?

Typical, junk mil-spec ammo. Snipers occasionally get match grade ammo. However, they use junk also for training.

ArmySon, welcome back, like to see some more photos of those .45s of yours.

Regarding ammo. I thought that it is all Federal ammo manufactuer in Lake City location with man. dates of 2000-2001-2002?

I've shot that and while not always pretty brass, it's quality stuff.

Freedom...
Good of you to be concerned, but the firearms ammunition manufacturers are very well known including their address. Reps for these firms travel the world selling their wares.

Hell, even I have some of the Federal LC 5.56 production ammo -- XM193 55 gr ammo is good stuff. You can get it at Ammoman.com. I don't have a clue what you saw on the tube.

I don't think security is a problem. If it was on NBC, it's because our military wanted it to be seen.

Did the bullets have green paint on the tip? Those are the special St Patrick's day bullets.

Regards.

One of my concerns has been M855 out of the short barrelled M4...according to
Ammo Oracle

M855 probably won't fragment beyond
50 meters :what: from a 14.5 inch barrel, but M193 is good for twice that.

Apparently, it's been a problem in Afghanistan, and Mogadishu as well.

Personally, I'm inclined to ship some of my M193 to "Any Soldier", but since I suspect that would violate dozens of laws and regs, I won't.
